Stormy Daniels, 39, claimed she had an affair with Donald Trump, 71, US President, in an interview televised on American channel CBS last Sunday night.

She told Anderson Cooper, 50, a American journalist and CNN news anchor, that she had had sex with Donald in his hotel room during a golfing trip in 2006.

“I realised exactly what I’d gotten myself into”, she told Anderson in the television interview. “I came out and he was sitting, you know, on the edge of the bed when I walked out, perched.”

She added that the sex was “consensual” and she thought of it as a “business deal”. She also added that the pair did not use a condom.

But is there any truth to the affair claims? Stormy, who has a huge net worth, said she would even give back the £91K “hush money” she was allegedly paid.

“It was very important to me to be able to defend myself,” she told Anderson, justifying her reason for doing the tell-all interview.

However, the White House has denied the claims on Donald Trump behalf, calling Stormy’s claims “inconsistent”.

“The President strongly clearly and consistently has denied these underlying claims,” said White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah last Monday.

“The only one who has been inconsistent is the one making the claims. The President doesn’t believe that any of the claims Ms. Daniels made in the interview are accurate.”

It is said Stormy previously denied having an affair with Donald Trump, however, she has claimed this was due to a non-disclosure agreement pushed on her by Donald’s lawyer, Michael Cohen.

Nor has Melania Trump backed up Stormy’s claims. Melania Trump’s Press Secretary and Communications Director Stephanie Grisham has made a statement on the First Lady’s behalf via her Twitter account.

The public relations expert said: “While I know the media is enjoying speculation & salacious gossip, I’d like to remind people there’s a minor child whose name should be kept out of news stories when at all possible.”

US TV host Stephen Colbert added to the conversation when he called Stormy’s account “the least surprising story I have ever heard”, adding “it all felt true”.

Meanwhile, Donald’s daughter Ivanka Trump came under fire today for posting baby photos on her Instagram.

Followers claimed the First Daughter was using these photos as a “distraction” from Stormy Daniels’ affair allegations about her father.

The Instagram posts certainly had nothing to do with the affair rumours. Ivanka was posting to celebrate Theo’s second birthday, which is today.
